Paniolo Greens
Golf Course Condo
If you’re looking to spend less but be very close to the mega-resorts of the Big Island’s Kohala Coast, Paniolo Greens’ two-bedroom/two-bath units are worthy of your consideration.
Paniolo Greens is a substantial enclave of mostly townhouse-style accommodations, which sit six miles and just seven or eight minutes above the coast, adjacent to Waikoloa Village and its Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course. If you love the beach, the sensationally expansive white sand of the Hapuna State Beach Park is only about 12 minutes away.
There are many solid reasons why this is a terrific location, not the least of which is the rarified air of Waikoloa Village, which is over 1,000 feet above sea level. The cooler temperatures are especially invigorating in the evenings and early mornings, but key-activated air conditioning is available for a $5 per-day surcharge. Also in very close proximity, is Waikoloa Village’s Highlands Shopping Center with several stores, eateries and the only full-service supermarket in the extended area.
Most of the units are two-floors with living room, dining area, kitchen and lanai on the first level and two bedrooms, two baths and washer/dryer upstairs. Ground floor units are one-level. Room sizes are more than ample and most of the top floor rooms in the two-story units sport reasonably nice long views of the coast and surrounding golf course and/or volcanic terrain.
The appointments are best described as utilitarian with everything you would need to spend anywhere from five nights to a month. A majority of the units also feature king or queen bed in the master bedroom with queen bed in the second bedroom, making Paniolo Greens a very good choice for two couples traveling together.

Castle Kona Reef
Condominium
One of a long line of condominium properties that grace Ali'i Drive as it heads south from Kona to Keauhou Bay, Castle Kona Reef offers some nice one-bedroom units with ocean views from a rocky oceanfront setting.
The four-story complex is perched above the jagged coastline and adjacent to a beach that is a surfer's delight. There is a swimming pool, jet-spa, sundeck and barbeques available to all guests. Each unit has ample space, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, full kitchen, washer/dryer and private lanais.
If you desire an oceanfront location, just a short walk to the bustling seaside village of Kailua-Kona, the Kona Reef is a very good choice.

Marc Kona Bali Kai
Moderate Oceanfront Condo
About midway between downtown Kailua-Kona and lovely Keauhou Bay, along a stretch of Ali’i Drive that hugs the shoreline with a number of condo enclaves and private homes, sits Marc Kona Bali Kai.
The Kona Bali Kai complex spans both sides of Ali’i Drive, but for a variety of reasons, we offer only the oceanfront one- and two-Bedroom units right on the shoreline. That’s right…the ocean is just below your sliding doors, windows and lanai. Nothing can be more divine if you are looking for spacious accommodations with the sight, sound and scent of the Pacific.
As is the custom in condo/villa accommodations, compete kitchen, washer/dryer ample baths and the usual mix of beds and sofabeds are on display. There is a pool and jet-spa on-property and, of course, plenty of ocean access to partake in virtually any water activity. There is no air-conditioning on the oceanfront side of Kona Bali Kai, but the seaside setting makes you want to leave windows and sliders open to the joys of the great outdoors.
If you like being on the ocean with plenty of space, you can’t go wrong at Marc Kona Bali Kai and the value is quite inviting too!
