Aston Mahana at Kaanapali
West Maui Oceanfront Condo
Here’s a terrific place with some class and panache. Aston Mahana at Kaanapali is a deluxe/premium, high-rise, oceanfront, apartment-style condominium. Now, that’s a mouthful, but Mahana is also an eyeful.
Just north of the Kaanapali Beach Resort and parallel to the ocean washing up near its manicured lawn, Aston Mahana at Kaanapali resides in a truly desirable location. In addition to spectacular views of Molokai and Lanai, from every lanai (and virtually every window), guests can watch humpback whales in the winter and a variety of sea life including dolphins, turtles, and rays that inhabit a reef just off shore.
Mahana’s centrally air-conditioned suites are custom-furnished with tasteful appointments and offer massive floor to ceiling windows. Most of the master bedrooms in the two-bedroom units have dead-on ocean views just like the living room and lanai. Fully equipped kitchens provide complete "at home" comfort. All units have a washer/dryer and the other standard array of condo goodies.
Active guests at Aston Mahana, can enjoy the oceanfront swimming pool, sauna, unlimited complimentary tennis on two lighted courts, snorkeling just off shore, or jogging along the beach.
With the Kaanapali Beach Resort, Whalers Village, Lahaina and Kapalua Resort very close by, and with a shopping area and an excellent supermarket just across from the entrance to the property, the Aston Mahana could not be in a more convenient location. Any west Maui vacation will be significantly enhance by a stay at the Mahana. During January, spring and fall, the value is sensational and a fifth night is free.

Kapalua Villas Maui
West Maui Condo/Villa Resort
Standing tall among an extensive field of condo/villa operators in Hawaii is the Kapalua Villas Maui, where a unique vacation experience is delivered at the sprawling 1,600-acre Kapalua Resort in west Maui.
Kapalua Villas is comprised of privately owned units spread throughout the resort’s various villa enclaves. Each complex offers pools, jet-spas and barbecue areas amidst botanical delights and the resort’s three golf courses. Most of the residential development at Kapalua overlooks scenic Oneloa Bay and from virtually every unit, even those with fairway view (FV), there is often some kind of ocean vista from inside or out. Ocean view and oceanfront units offer exceptional views.
Whichever complex you find yourself, the KVM one- and two-bedroom units are extremely large and present a number of top-notch amenities. Most of the units have an extra half bath. Many two-bedrooms feature two master suites. All have very large lanais (patios), excellent ventilation, ceiling fans, fully equipped kitchens, as well as quality appointments and furnishings. Some, but not all, of the units are air-conditioned. Permit parking is free.
One of the perks of staying on the Kapalua Resort is the complimentary resort shuttle, preferred golf rates, complimentary tennis, scenic jogging and walking paths, three stunning white-sand beaches, resort-wide charging privileges, shopping and access to the resort’s 15 pools and 11 restaurants. There is a small resort fee of $6.77 per-day/per-unit payable at check-in. One anomaly, however, is the analog phone system, which is not conducive to dial-up online access. Don’t bother to bring your laptop.
Just 12 minutes from Lahaina and six minutes from the Kaanapali Resort, Kapalua Villas Maui is as convenient as it is pleasing. And when you consider all its attributes, it should be easy to see why I call Kapalua Villas Maui the mother-of-all condo/villa properties in Hawaii.
