If you’re looking for the amenities, panache and feel of a full service beachfront resort at a much lower cost than Hawaii’s other resorts, the sensational Radisson Kauai Beach Resort is the place to stay. Located just 5 minutes north the airport and central to all that Kauai has to offer, the Radisson Kauai completed an $11 million top to bottom renovation in 2001. The transformation from its former to new-fangled version has been remarkable and somewhat profound. The award-winning décor and stunningly elegant appointments are on display throughout the property from the entrance, to the lobby, to the restaurant, to the guest rooms and beyond.
The striking lobby is enhanced by entertainment from Shutter’s Lounge and Bar. The eye-popping Naupaka Terrace Steak House, which serves breakfast and dinner, has been opened to the outdoors and features lagoon-side dining. There is water aplenty and lots of fun in the sun with four substantial pools, jet-spa, meandering lagoons and three miles of lovely secluded beach for strolling and sunning. The latest addition to Radisson’s great outdoors is their sand-bordered/bottomed Fresh Water Beach Pool on the oceanfront and adjacent to the Driftwood Sandbar and Grille, which serves lunch, light dinner and tropical beverages. The nightly Tahitian dancing and torch-lighting ceremony is an eyeful and earful.
The resort’s elegance has been gracefully carried into the 347 incredibly comfortable guestrooms with appointments (like 27-inch TVs) generally found in much higher-priced properties.
