Located only 12 miles from Kahului Airport, The Maui Coast Hotel is my hotel of choice in Kihei (key-hey) for a variety of reasons. In addition to tremendous value in all-suite accommodations (ALLHawaii.com doesn’t offer the Standard room category), it is across the street from a lovely six-mile stretch of beautiful white-sand beach in the heart of sunny Kihei.
Guests will find plenty of amenities at the Maui Coast. A swimming pool, two jet-spas and a children's wading pool are inviting. Sports fans and active guests will appreciate two lighted tennis courts and the hotel's complimentary fitness center. Area attractions and activities are all within 15 miles, including the Maui Ocean Center, Wailea Resort Area, Maui Arts and Cultural Center, as well as swimming snorkeling, scuba diving and sunbathing opportunities at scores of area beaches.
While very few of the Maui Coast’s rooms offer much of a view, all of the air-conditioned guest rooms are beautifully decorated and appointed at a level that exceeds the pricing. Amenities include a ceiling fan, balcony, coffee maker, hair dryer, mini-refrigerator, Nintendo game system and in-room wall safe. The friendly, well-trained staff does a commendable job of making guests feel at home and the housekeeping services are excellent.
For a variety of reasons, ALLHawaii.com has eliminated the leader category—Standard Room (355 sq. ft.)—in favor of the much larger Alcove Suites (519 sq. ft.) and One-Bedroom Suites (545 sq. ft.). These two categories are not only significantly larger, but the Alcove Suite (other hotels often refer to this type of room as a junior suite) is actually less expensive than a standard room from mid-April through mid-December due to our 5th night free program. And if you like condo-style accommodations, but do not need a kitchen, the Maui Coast offers the best one-bedroom hotel-suite value on any outer-island. Another bonus in these two types of suites: jet-spa bathtubs.

The Mauian Hotel on Napili Beach

If you’re looking for a place on the beach to “chill” and get away from it all, stop right here and read about the refreshingly Hawaiian, Mauian Hotel on Napili Beach, where they like to say, “you’ll find the true Aloha spirit and warm feeling of coming home.” It would be difficult to dispute that point.
Awash in Hawaiiana, The Mauian Hotel resides on a thoroughly stunning stretch of sand in the middle of magnificent Napili Beach. Not only is the pristine beach right outside the door of each studio unit, but the vistas across the channel to Moloka'i and Lana'i are more than slightly engaging.
Nestled on two acres of serene Hawaiian gardens, The Mauian’s 44 newly renovated studios feature fully equipped one-wall kitchens. Each studio is reasonably spacious, has ocean and island views from the lanai and sleeps three comfortably. The décor is charming with an island flare. To keep you in the laid back and relaxed Aloha spirit, there are no phones or TVs in the rooms. Instead, the “Ohana Room,” not only is the site of the daily complimentary “Wiki Wiki” breakfast, but has a TV, VCR and an extensive video and book collection, as well as phone jacks for your laptop Internet access.
Pacific arts and crafts and 19th century South Pacific reproduction furniture is showcased at The Mauian. The 1950's-style tropical architecture of the late Edwin Bauer has been carefully preserved and the splendor of nostalgic Hawaii is nicely captured. The gardens, surrounding the five 2-story buildings, display Hawaiian taro, ko and medicinal plant varieties.
