Lodging Classifications

Please note, these are simply guidelines and properties often straddle two or three levels of classification. For instance, the highest one or two categories at a particular property may clearly belong in the next classification level. On an island-to-island basis, Maui and Lanai tend to be a bit more expensive (and sometimes a bit beyond the parameters stated below), while Oahu/Waikiki is generally the least expensive.

Just a note about condos/villas: While two-bedroom condos always cost more than studios and one-bedrooms at the same property, they are a much better value and a lower price on a per-person basis when occupied by two couples or four adults splitting the cost.

INTRODUCTORY (Oahu/Waikiki only)
I am not much of a fan of the few cheap, cheap lodging establishments that do exist on all the Hawaiian Islands. For those looking for just a place to sleep, they may be just fine, but I won't sell them. With no equivocation, I can assure you that for just a few dollars more you can grab an ALLHawaii.com bargain deal in a quality accommodation. Most importantly, at a place where I feel comfortable spending time and dollars. Since there are so many more lodging establishments in Oahu/Waikiki, I have developed our INTRODUCTORY level for those looking for lodging in the range of $75 per-night.

MODERATE
This lodging level is a bargain hunter's delight. All of my MODERATE selections have some unique features, amenities or categories. Each offers something more than just a place to sleep. The highest end of these accommodations may even slip into the deluxe range at certain places. Hotel rooms, studios and one-bedroom condos at the MODERATE level generally range from $80-$130 per-night according to the category, season and free nights.

DELUXE
Here's where things start getting extremely interesting. My DELUXE properties can run the gamut from high moderate to low premium and everything in-between. At this level, you'll start to see nicer appointments, more consistency and better delivery of services. A really good package price in this level should be affordable to most everyone and strongly considered even if you wanted to spend a little less. It never hurts to take look. Hotel rooms, studios and one-bedroom condos/villas at the DELUXE level generally range from $100-$160 per-night according to the category, season and free nights.

PREMIUM
On a dollar for dollar basis, my PREMIUM offerings may be the best values of all. The reasons are many. The competition among properties is very strong at this level, so I had a choice of significant dimension. Most of the premium properties are substantial in size and, accordingly, I was able to craft real super deals to feature higher and even unique categories rather than the "leader" or entry-level category. Even though the "leader" price may be less, in my opinion, it is often not a premium-worthy accommodation. At this level, you'll experience superior appointments, better views and a very high level of service often on par with luxury properties. Hotel rooms, studios and one-bedroom condos at the PREMIUM level generally range from $130-$280 per-night according to the category, season and free nights.

LUXURY
This level is for the discerning visitor who is willing to pay more to get what they perceive is more. To be truthful, my premium accommodations are all quite competitive with the LUXURY group. As with the other lodging levels, any property ALLHawaii.com offers must be a good value and that includes luxury. As a result, the selection is limited, but extremely worthy of your attention and patronage. Luxury properties tend to be found at inspired locations in terms of beaches, ocean and vistas. Hotel rooms, studios and one-bedroom condos at the LUXURY level generally range from $280 per-night and significantly up according to the category, season and free nights.
